I am currently employed part time until end of June 2026 as a Wikimedian in Residence for the Maanaki Whenua - Landcare Research group of the New Zealand Bioeconomy Science Institute. I continue to volunteer for a plethora of GLAM, digital humanities and citizen science projects with a focus on BHL.

My mission in life is to connect everything. I advocate for open access, open Creative Commons copyright licenses, and I defend the public domain. I’m currently obsessed with various Wikimedia projects, crowdsourcing, citizen science, Bionomia, citation data, New Zealand endemic moths, women scientific illustrators, women natural history contributors, research expeditions, name authority data, iNaturalist and scientific publications and artworks. These obsessions change at my whim.

In 2018 I was awarded the Auckland War Memorial Museum Medal and I am a Companion of the Auckland War Memorial Museum. In 2023 the Wikimedia Foundation named me Wikimedia Laureate.
