This post explores a remarkable volume discovered in the Museums Victoria library: a set of ornithological papers interleaved with handwritten notes and hand-painted illustrations by Osbert Salvin. These annotations reveal how his field observations were revised and developed into the published work Biologia Centrali-Americana, a landmark contribution to natural history.
