I’ve recently been working on the Wikimedia Commons category for the illustrations found in Herbier colorié de l’Amerique. I’ve been added structured data statements to these files in line with the BHL illustration WikiCommons data model. I really love how modern these images feel despite the book being published in 1783. However adding “depicts” statements are a challenge as finding the current species names for the plants illustrated can be difficult!
