In celebration of #WorldLakeDay this Thursday (27 August), I thought I’d share a recent BHL Australia digitisation effort.
Last year, BHL Australia was contacted by freshwater scientists who needed access to two publications of the Australian Society for Limnology: the Australian Society for Limnology Bulletin and the Australian Society for Limnology Newsletter.
These publications contain valuable records of Australian limnology and freshwater science, but were not available anywhere online.
Because the titles are still in copyright, we first needed to obtain permission. We contacted the copyright holder, the Australian Freshwater Sciences Society, which generously gave permission for the publications to be both digitised and made openly available through BHL.
A huge thank you to BHL Australia’s Digitisation Coordinator @bhlau_jack and our fabulous BHL Australia volunteers for all their work to make these publications freely accessible to everyone.
