As a result of the recent BHL community meeting where I learned more about the NHM planetary knowledge graph I’ve been working on the Harvard Index of Botanists and using BHL sources to assist me in tracking folk down and adding them to Wikidata. I’ve just added the mycologist Ann Hibbard to Wikidata and have also linked her to a fungi species named in her honour Russula hibbardae. It is only because of BHL’s full text search that I’ve been able to make these connections. Oh and the NYBG may be interested in this work as they hold some of her illustrations in their archives in their Gertrude Simmons Burlingham Papers.
